Welcome to my stop on the blog tour for The Time Collector by Gwendolyn Womack

Welcome to my stop on the book tour for The Time Collector by @gwendolynwomack.  Thank you to @hfvbt and Picador books for my copy of this great book!

.

SNYOPSIS:  Roan West was born with an extraordinary gift: he can perceive the past of any object he touches. A highly skilled psychometrist, he uses his talents to find and sell valuable antiques, but his quiet life in New Orleans is about to change. Stuart, a fellow pyschometrist and Roan’s close friend, has used his own abilities to unearth several out-of-place-artifacts or “ooparts”—like a ring that once belonged to the seventeenth-century mathematician and philosopher René Descartes, but was found buried in prehistoric bedrock.

.

The relics challenge recorded history, but soon after the discovery, Stuart disappears, making him one of several psychometrists who have recently died or vanished without a trace. When Roan comes across a viral video of a young woman who has discovered a priceless pocket watch just by “sensing” it, he knows he has to warn her—but will Melicent Tilpin listen? And can Roan find Stuart before it’s too late?

.

MY THOUGHTS:    I really loved this book!   From the first chapter, I was immediately immersed in the story.  This was such a fun read because there’s a little bit of everything here that I love.  It’s a thrill ride with a mystery, mysticism, and even some romance.  I loved Roan and Melicent and all the characters are so well-written.  And the history!  Roan’s skill as a psychometrist allows the reader to journey into the past from the imprints left behind on the artifacts.  Not only did I find myself immersed in history, I also learned about the pasts of the characters too, which  I found really clever.  This will probably be one of my favorite reads of 2019 and I want to read the author’s other novels now.  Pick up this unique, well-written book!

Happy Pub Day!

The Little Teashop on Main by Jodi Thomas

.

Happy Pub Day! Look how pretty this book is. Thank you to @harlequinpublicityteam for my copy.

.

Summary: Blonde, curly-haired Zoe is openhearted, kind and free-spirited, and dreams of becoming a famous actor in New York City. Shy Emily struggles with mental health but has the heart and soul of a writer. And Shannon—tall, athletic, strong—has a deep sense of loyalty that will serve her well when she heads off to military college.

.

As Zoe, Emily and Shannon grow into women—forging careers, following dreams and finding love—they’ll learn that life doesn’t always unfold the way they want it to, but through it all, the one constant is each other, and their regular tea parties. And when the unthinkable happens, the girls must come together to face the greatest test of all.

.

My Thoughts: It was a rainy Saturday morning and I made this mistake of reading the first chapter because I was hooked. But I had an entire day of chores ahead of me and all I wanted to do was make myself a pot of tea and curl up with this book! I also love reading about friendships over a lifetime and I’m just really excited to read this.

.

Happy Tuesday everyone! Hope you are finding some time this week to take a few moments to read and recharge!

Blog Tour Stop!

Welcome to my stop on the book tour for The

Season of Silver Linings by @christinenolfi.  Many thanks to @suzyapprovedbooktours for the invitation!

.

This book is the third novel in the Sweet Lake trilogy. I hadn’t read the first two books in the series, but that didn’t matter because I was able to jump right into the story of three friends, Jada, Cat and Linnie. When the book begins, there is a lot of hustle and bustle at the Wayfair Inn where Jada is the pastry chef. The women run the inn together and Linnie is preparing to get married. There is a group of older women called the Sirens who claim to have prescient dreams and Jada is the target of their latest one. I identified with Jada. She was the single lady in the group and much of the responsibility of taking care of the inn fell on her shoulders. She also found herself helping to care for Philip, a childhood friend and his 6-year-old daughter Fancy.

.

This book is sweet, touching, and fun with a lovely blend of romance and even some mystery! I would definitely love to go back and read the first two books to see how everything fits together. Christine Nolfi has a new book releasing on June 11th called The Road She Left Behind.  I’m really excited to read it!

.

SUMMARY:  When Ohio pastry chef Jada Brooks and her two best friends restored the glorious Wayfair Inn, it was a boon to Sweet Lake—and to their own lives. Now Linnie and Cat are focused on private matters: one engaged, the other swept up in newlywed bliss. Jada has also begun looking to the future by dating widower Philip Kettering and forging a sudden, sweet bond with his six-year-old daughter.

But the past isn’t finished with Jada. When a curious guest checks into the Wayfair, her delving questions stir Jada’s guilt about the heartbreaking events that scarred the town seven years ago. The risks Jada must take by revealing the truth will test every assumption she’s made about the meaning of family and the magic of enduring love.

Happy Sunday!

Welcome to my stop on the IG feature for The Wonder of Lost Causes by Nick Trout.  Thank you to @tlcbooktours and @williammorrowbooks for my copy!

.

My Thoughts:  I’m really anxious to read this book for many reasons.  I love animals.  My dogs are my kindred souls.  They are more than my reading buddies.  They have been there through the good and the bad.  They have comforted me during some really tough times.  We have a bond that will never be broken.  Every animal lover I meet has a story to tell about their life with a pet—dog, cat, horse, bird, chicken.  I’ve seen nearly everything at the  animal hospital and everyone I meet there has a story to tell.  Sometimes we laugh, sometimes we shed tears together.

.

Did you/do you have a dog?  Come and tell me how a dog has helped you through a tough moment or time in your life. 🐶  My English lab, Benny, posed for this picture.  I can’t begin to describe the amount of love in his heart.  He loves everyone and is so gentle with Henry, my elderly and blind dachshund.  If you are able, open your heart and home to a pet in need.  I guarantee the love and loyalty you receive in return will be priceless.

.

Book Summary: Dr. Kate Blunt will do anything for her son, Jasper. Well, almost anything. Since Jasper has the incurable lung disease cystic fibrosis, Kate’s always told him he couldn’t get a dog. It’s a tough call, but she’s a single mom taking care of a kid who fights for every breath he takes. The daily medical routine that keeps Jasper alive is complicated enough. Worse still, Kate’s personal resolve runs contrary to her work as the veterinarian in charge of a Cape Cod animal shelter, where she is on a mission to find forever homes for dogs in desperate need.

.

The scarred, mistreated wreck of a dog that turns up doesn’t stand a chance. Named Whistler, he’s too old, too ugly. But the dog forms an instantaneous bond with Jasper. Whistler never makes a sound, yet he speaks to Jasper in a myriad of mysterious ways. The clock’s ticking, the dog’s future hangs in the balance, and Jasper would do anything to find him a home; but Whistler has chosen them—for a reason.🐾🐾
